NEW TIME & LOCATION: Dancing Grounds @ 3705 St Claude Ave. Train strength, balance, and musicality in this multi-faceted, wild card class! Each week Artistic Director Sophia Rabinovitz works with the dancers in attendance, catering to their needs while teaching Contemporary techniques (inversions, Release Technique, core and floor) and Hip Hop (Breakin', Waacking, and House basics).
NEW LOCATION & DAY: Sunday @ the Rhythmic Arts Center @ 2358 St. Claude Ave. The material is inspired by the Axis Syllabus principles for motor skills which is derived from different sciences such as anatomy, physics and bio-mechanics. We will investigate the body's function in movement and research and fine tune our understanding of the human body, it's organization, and it's optimal function in dynamic and quotidian movement. Classes will focus on different weekly topics such as Gait -mechanics, spiral lines, landing and launching pads, spinal mechanics, motor masses, rhythm and more! Classes are $12-20 (sliding scale)
NEW LOCATION: Tigermen Den @ 3113 Royal Street. ArtCamp504 offers a week-long Papermaking & Creative Storytelling Summer Camp for children ages 5-13 from 9am-3pm (aftercare til 5pm available). Our thematic workshops are taught by professional teaching artists and culminate in a Friday storytelling performance for family and friends. High School & College students may apply to volunteer through our Teacher-Guide Program.
