Mime & Movement with Matthew "Poki" McCorkle

A collection of theories, techniques, and exercises compiled to inform movement that is precise, eloquently articulated, grounded, and expressive. Includes body isolations, fixed point, inertia, classics like "pulling rope" and "the wall", slow walking, tension release, body awareness exercises, movements ranging from soft and subtle to quick and clean. Open to all-levels and all disciplines.

Matthew "Poki" McCorkle is mime and object manipulator specializing in hoop illusions (video) from the United States. His solo work has traveled to Dubai (Cirque Éloize 2014, 2015), The Philippines, Israel, Taiwan, Berlin, Vienna, and more. As well as solo work, Matthew also writes, directs, and produces full length ensemble works. He co-created the award winning physical theatre duo Button Wagon (2010-2013) and The Incredible Incredible before forming RAGMOP Theatre in collaboration with Nayana Fielkov in 2016. When not touring Matthew is based at the Lookout Arts Quarry in Bellingham WA, USA.
