The ordinary is extraordinary - poignant, risky, human.

rjc is an interdisciplinary, collaborative ensemble, presenting innovative physical theatre, both contemporary and classic. rjc is nit-picky and detailed composition of choreography, text, music and technology, as well as grass roots and visceral improvisation. rjc is highly influenced by Mary Overly's 6 viewpoints, Joan Evans' techniques, Rachel Rothenthal's doing by doing, theatre of the oppressed and the anarchic concepts of non-hierarchal existence.

reese johanson collective is seeking company members who are looking to be a part of an ensemble company. Paid and contracted positions. 1 year commitment (at least) required. Artist stipends to be discussed.


Rehearsals and trainings are:

  • All rehearsals are required, 1 open studio is required (but you may do both!)

  • Sundays from Noon to 2pm (optional open studio)

  • Tuesdays from 9:30am to Noon (required)

  • Wednesdays from 9:30am to Noon (optional open studio)

  • Thursdays from 9:30am to Noon (required)

  • Must attend 2 required rehearsals and 1 optional open studio

  • Must perform with the company, monthly, dates to be confirmed with company once established

Auditions: Dec. 4th from 5-8pm- be prepared to stay the entire 3 hours.

Call backs Dec. 15th from 12:30pm - to 3:30pm.

Come dressed to move, bring water.

The audition will start with a warm up / physical training together for the 1st hour.

There will be a 10 minute break followed by various ensemble, improvisation exercises then learning and performing choreography and text.
