We (Hannah + Emily) began rehearsing this dance in a small living room during spring of 2018. In this compressed context, we quickly realized how necessary it was to pull ourselves out from one another. We began leaning into our similarities and the antagonism that comes with them, and the intimacy that feels possible and also impossible because of them... This resulting performance is steeped in our messy identifications with submissiveness, dominance, aggression, and care. Intimate and evocative scenarios unfold as we move in and out of contact with one another, leaving everything and nothing up for interpretation. Our antics are steeped in curiosity about power and power dynamics—all of which is shaped by our close proximity to you.

Matt Spiegel's "A Premier Cover Band with some original songs"

While an Art Klub artist-in-residence, Matthew has been spending time in the electrical audio laboratory, mixing new concoctions. Tonight is his presentation of the experiments he’s been working on, including what he has come to call the end of an approach to music making that was based on the motivation to make the biggest and wildest music he could just after a time that he was down-and-out and the musical instruments he had were limited!
